Lou Zocchi

Perhaps the Gary Gygax of wargaming and conventions. His name is everywhere from the 60's into the 90's. Broke onto the scene in the 60's as a retired military person interested in wargaming. Regularly performed a magic act at the conventions and gave seminars on starting your own game company from design to publishing. Began printing games with Lou Zocchi Associates and later Gamescience. Known for selling used games in the later 80's with ads in the Dragon Magazine. His used game price lists served as the earliest guide for collectors at auctions or elsewhere. Known to have sold several B3 orange copies. Arguably responsible for vaulting the collectibility of Dieties and Demigods w/ Chthulu and Melnibon mythos.
Lou Zocchi regularly ran seminars and gave speeches on starting your own game company well into the mid 70's. Surely this contributed to the breadth of gaming companies throughout the years.
