Miscellaneous Gen Con venues
Other conventions organized or sponsored by TSR and associated with the
Gen Con brand name. TSR wanted to stretched its reach to a broader national
presence and saw the conventions as the best way to spread the gospel.
The old timers at TSR also longed for the days of smaller conventions where
they could stretch out and enjoy gaming on a much smaller level than what Gen
Con had turned into. They set up the smaller quarterly conventions,
revel/fantasy, for this purpose at the American Legion Hall
(and other locations??) in Lake Geneva.

EPT, MA, Mah Jongg are played amongst others.

Gen Con South VI- Mar 11-13, 1983. Held at the
Thunderbird Resort Hotel in Jacksonville, Florida. Hosted by TSR.
Gen Con East- July 23-26, 1981
Co-sponsered by EGA (Eastern Gamers Association)
and TSR. EGA also sponsored Origins '80.
TSR ran an Open AD&D Tournament and an RPGA membership
Tournament. This is the 1st RPGA tourney and was coordinated
by Frank Mentzer. They apparently ran R1 'To the Aid of Falx' and
R2 ' Investigation of Hydell' as the official RPGA tournament.
Both Gary Gygax and Frank Mentzer gave guest speeches.
Lots of various game clubs hosted their own D&D adventures at this
convention. None of the names ring a bell with us but who knows for
sure. Wilmark Dynasty, Tunnels and Trolls, Iron Crown had a big
tournament presence here. There was lots of Wargaming here also.
