There appear to be at least two releases of Mind War. The order presented here is based upon variances in the product lists or in the manufacture of game components. In order to determine release, check the paper. The original release Mind War has a Hammermill watermark in the rulebook.

Even though the cover still bears the 1976 copyright date, this example was clearly issued more recently. The counters are printed on glossy photopaper. The rulebook is orange instead of salmon in color, and is unstapled. The biggest clue, however, is that the map bears a date of 2001 with the author's signature, making it a 25th Anniversary issue!
