How about adding a "Mark Forums Read" link at the top right of the main index page, so we don't have to scroll to the bottom to mark everything read?

Hi Allan. Try this feature Ralf plugged in to help keep the directory manageable....

You can than click on any of the research forums for the same effect. Makes scrolling much more manageable. I should write this detail into a forum use tutorial for others to benefit from.

That is helpful, but if I don't want to collapse the forums (to preserve the big picture, to so speak), is there any way to add the 2nd link (or move the link from the bottom to the top)?

Allan, if you want the complete forum marked "read", just close the browser window. Next time you visit, they're all marked read (except for the new posts since your last visit; works in IE7).

Does that work in Firefox 2.0.0.8 too, Ralf?

Sorry, I have not tested it yet. I must admit I use IE (though I earn a lot of criticism, because it is "unsafe").
