Scribe's Musings: This issue is the last of the mimeo printed issues. It is also the last issue containing a significant amount of club/society news and business. It has been suggested by our Increment that the club decided the cost of photo-offset was too expensive for the club news, thus this probably inspired the creation of the International Wargamer Supplement.

What is a Wargame. by John Bobek is a very interesting article written in a very succinct way. It describes a quick survey of the 'who plays' and 'why they play' wargames. It poses a very interesting question...."By playing wargames, aren't you in effect training people to enjoy war?" It goes on to describe conscientious objectors within the IFW club as example. He goes on to describe wargames as nothing but an abstraction removed from reality as a game. He likens wargames to chess as a distinctly correct comparison.

Gygax's review of FEUDAL -- MEDIEVAL WARGAME by 3M is an eye catching article. The game involves battle in and around the castle as a 'chess derivative' and is formated as a boardgame/wargame.
