Seems like these are up there value wise and have been for sometime. Any ideas why?

Facility, I imagine. It's easier to store or transport than 250 issues of Dragon magazine. I doubt collectors are snapping them up as a collectible.

~$100 seems like a "reasonable price to pay" for that, to be honest.

What was the list price on that item? I think the price went up very quickly. Ralf and I were talking about this happening years ago and it has sustained iteself.

Seems to me that WoTC should consider revising and reissuing this item.

It is like watching the budding of a collectible. It is very interesting the pathway of each collectible. Gems seem to differ slightly or considerably in their reasoning for becoming a collectible.
