IIRC, Mark, at least one of my Hess Games items came in a ziplock vs. in an envelope with the cover glued on. Have you seen that variant already?

Yes, I have seen this as well. I think only 5 of the ones I posted came in the envelope with the cover glued on and the others are ziplock or plastic bagged. I listed the enveloped copy of Dark Dungeons but have also seen this one in a bagged version.

I would guess that the enveloped copies were produced after the ziplock bag versions since the earlier editions produced by Creative Cartography Ideas:

were bagged editions.

Interesting---I didn't know about the earlier versions! Have you had any luck tracking any of hte principals down, Mark?---I'm going to be back in South Jersey over Christmas, and would be happy to try to meet up with some of the Hess/Creative Cartography folks, if they're around??

I've sent out a couple emails a few months ago but didn't heard back from any of them. From a search on 411 there still seems to be a Steven R Hess in Cresskill, NJ.

It seems that all Hess games come either in a ziplock or a folder edition with a colour that seems to depend on stock #

Green Envelope
The Classic World #100-01

Red Envelope
The Fortress # 200-01
The Castle of Entropy #200-02
The Classic Castle #200-03
Charibdes Hall #201-01

Blue Envelope
Dark Dungeons I #300-01
Dark Dungeons II #300-02

Orage Envelope
The Inland Town #400-01
Seagate City #400-02

I have ziplock and folder versions of all (execpt seagate folder version, inland town ziplock .. although the inland town ziplock noted ebay auction)
There also seem to be various different colour cover sheets as well.. will need to look into this later.. (see http://www.afterglow2.com/Product/Hess.htm)

Brette:)
