These were created after seeing another group (Liecester Wargames group I think) playing a home made set at a gaming convention in either Aldershot or Southend. They went through several small changes from '73, stabilising in '77. Wal' (Hugh Walters) wrote a few articles for Military Modelling on how to make and model gladiators at 15 and 25mmm even though we mostly used 54mm's for gaming with the public.

Wal' and Stephen "Andy" Andrews did most of the development work, arguing about the hit location numbers and the wierder rules like allowing polecats... Another of the members - "Big" John Herbert - worked at BSI in thier print room. So the group clubbed together and bought paper, typed up the basics and did some little artwork. "Big John" got permision to copy and print up the rule sets. That's why they look amateur. We cut and assembled the sets a few days prior to going to an exhibition.

Same thing with the WW2 skirmish, WW1 aerial combat, Chariot racing and WW2 1/200th tank war rules.

Hello and welcome to the Tome! Thank you so much for the information. Do the WW2 skirmish, WW1 aerial combat, Chariot racing, WW2 1/200th tank war, 20th century, and Gladitorial rules make up the complete list of games from the group?
