Are these STAR FRONTIERS figs???

in one of my ebay auctions i found some strange figs - they all have a square base and the tag "VFW" with a number. the birdie-guys seem to have the year 1978 and a number. (which would speak against star frontiers)

so - does anyone recognize them?

I'm not much of a mini's guy but I don't think they are for Star Frontiers. The winged guy doesn't look like any of the SF races.

The minis also have a very early feel / look to them so I would think they predate Star Frontiers.

I checked on the Stuff of Legends website, which is very strong in mini's for this era...

Sadly their Gamma World images are few and far between.

These ones are from Valley of the 4 Winds by Minifigs.
