Musings:

Gary Gygax, Brian Blume, Robert Kuntz, Theron Kuntz, Timothy Kask all wrote brief backgrounds on their gaming and publishing careers. A very interesting read.....

Gary's abbreviated: Started playing chess at age 6. First wargame was Avalon Hill's Gettysburg circa '58. Studied anthropology. Sold insurance and work on his various gaming interests during business hours. Credits his association with Guidon Games as his biggest influence toward the creation of his own gaming company. Started TSR in October of 1973.

Brian Blume's abbreviated: Worked for tool and die company where he earned $20,000/year. First game purchased was Avalon Hill's Gettysburg in '59. Started with TSR in 1973 where he earned less than $6,000/year.

Rob Kuntz's abbreviated: Played various wargames in childhood and began his working career at TSR directly.

Theron Kuntz abbreviated: Rob's brother who also was interested in wargames. Graduated college as a mechanical draftsman but couldn't find work, so he took employment with TSR.

Timothy Kask's abbreviated: First played Avalon Hill's D-Day as a youngster. Joined the navy where he found a renewed interest in simulation gaming.

I have two copies of this issue. I noticed a minor difference between them.
The cover of one has the page number “1” printed at the bottom. (Similar to the “16” printed on the back cover). I checked with a magnifying glass and confirmed that it is indeed printed and not typed. I could find no other differences.
