Has this search feature been entirely removed to prevent the rash of bogus second chance offers? Help please.

Yes I believe it has. It started with anything over $200 or something like that then was expanded to everything. I havent tried the completed auctions search though, maybe it still works.

God. Why doesn't eBay just get more involved with assisting law enforcement instead of trying to put up a false sense of security? Sort of like turning a blind eye while a crime is happening in your own home.

It's a shame really. Cross-checking other's bids and searches was a very powerful tool. At least for our slice of ebay, they are losing out on an increase in fees as a result of lower auction results due to decreased visibility. Keyword searches are great but that'll never replace good old human eyes to spot lesser traveled auctions.

No one said that ebay was smart. It's wonderful in that it gives people access to things they could not normally find, but that's all it does. I've also been suspicious of ebay ending auctions five minutes early to combat sniping. I can think of a couple auctions that I went to place a bid and it was ended already. If true, those who use sniping software should have noticed unexplained misses.

Wouldn't combating sniping lead to lower auction results? Fewer bids, fewer dollars?

Tangentially reminds me of the time years ago when anyone could leave ANYONE negative feedback.

"Beware of this guy, he is a sniper!" - some poor guy's negative feedback left by another bidder Laughing

You can still use advanced search to search on bidders on items, but you obviously have to do so one user at a time....

I tried that, but could only see the items they were high bidders on, for completed auctions only.
